Category: Climate Change

Climate Change refers to long-term alterations in temperature, precipitation, wind patterns, and other elements of the Earth’s climate system. It encompasses both natural and human-induced changes, but is primarily associated with the significant changes observed over recent decades due to increased concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, particularly carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4). These gases are largely produced by human activities such as fossil fuel combustion, deforestation, and industrial processes.

Climate change results in a variety of impacts, including rising global temperatures, more extreme weather events, sea-level rise, and shifts in ecosystems and wildlife populations. It poses significant challenges to human health, food security, and water resources, and raises concerns over social and economic stability. Addressing climate change involves mitigation strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as adaptation measures to manage the effects already being experienced.
